Meet Your Trainer
Jess Nohr, CPDT-KA
Hi, I’m Jess Nohr, the heart behind The Woof Odyssey!
Originally from Wisconsin, I moved to Washington, D.C., in 2018 and now share my life with my two adventure-loving dogs: JoJo, a Husky/Golden Retriever mix, and Luca, a Siberian Husky. Whether hiking city trails or discovering new places, I’m always up for exploring with my pups by my side.
My Path to Dog Training
My journey to dog training combines creativity, passion, and a love for connection. I spent 15+ years in customer service, including a long stint as a bartender, where I honed my skills in understanding people and creating meaningful experiences. With a background in fashion and design, I still love expressing myself through art, painting, and style—always adding a vibrant flair to my everyday life.
I’ve worked hands-on in dog daycare and boarding, building a strong foundation in canine behavior. I’m a Certified Training Partner through the Karen Pryor Academy and am continuing to grow my skills through an apprenticeship with Jerri Scherff, CPDT-KA, at Tulsa Pack Athletics. I’m also proud to be a Canine Good Citizen Evaluator, helping dogs and their humans achieve milestones in their training journeys.
My Philosophy
At my core, I’m all about creating empowering, fun, and engaging experiences. I believe training should be a joyful partnership where you and your dog grow together. My approach is rooted in positivity, adaptability, and a little laughter along the way. Whether it’s teaching new skills or tackling challenges, I’m here to guide you with encouragement and creativity.
Let’s embark on an exciting journey to strengthen the bond with your dog and discover just how much fun training can be!
